Faithlessness of Israel (GL16)

  'Appreciating God's Love'

A) Why must We Fear of God?
Exo 20:18-20  Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. Then they said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die." And Moses said to the people, "Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin."
God brought the Israelites to the foot of Mount Sinai. There, they witnessed for themselves the display of His awesome power and might so that they would fear Him and not sin.

Warning of Idolatry
Exo 32:1,8  Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, "Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him."
Moses had been going up and down Mount Sinai to instruct the elders of God's words. Because of Moses' delay in coming down, the Israelites rebelled and made for themselves a golden calf to worship. They don't want God to dictate them but they want to control their gods or idols.
Similarly, today's covetous and worldly Christians have no fear of God. They rebel against Jesus by rejecting or distorting His words with wrong doctrines, distorted truth and heresies for they want our Lord Jesus and His words to serve their selfish nature of covetousness.
Covetousness is idolatry in Col 3:5.

Consequence of Rebellion
Exo 32:31  Then Moses returned to the Lord and said, "Oh, these people have committed a great sin, and have made for themselves a god of gold!"
All who rebel against God will not be saved.
Exo 32:33  And the Lord said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book."

B) Equipping in the Wilderness
Deu 1:26-28  "Nevertheless you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; and you complained in your tents, and said, 'Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us. Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying, "The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there." '
Though the Israelites saw so many signs and wonders, yet when they were confronted with dangers, they completely forgot God's might and power. Their faithlessness and rebellion resulted to their death except for Joshua and Caleb.
God used their 40 years of wandering in the wilderness to prepare the next generation. They were taught the Mosiac law and they even memorized the Torah.
With God's words hidden in their heart, these young Israelites were bold and fearless during their conquest of Canaan land.
Jos 1:16-17  So they answered Joshua, saying, "All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the Lord your God be with you, as He was with Moses.

C) Death for Rebellion
Just as the faithless and rebellious Israelites were killed for their rebellion and the preparation of devout Jews to possess Canaan land. Similarly, faithless, rebellious and heretic Christians will be killed in the coming World War 3 for the preparation of the bride of the Lamb to inherit the kingdom of God.

Start of World War 3
Rev 6:7-8  When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.
World War 3 will begin when Israel and Egypt attack Iran. 2 billion people will be killed and they will go to Hades - including depraved, worldly and heretic Christians.
Billions of people will be saved, when God uses godly Christians to miraculously feed, care and heal them. To prepare these new converts to overcome the coming tribulation and deceptions of the Antichrist, they will be discipled by godly Christians with sound doctrines.
*Note* God will preserve all godly Christians but will remove all depraved, carnal and heretic so-called Christians and wolves during World War 3.
